Volcano CSL is a multi-service demolition & hazardous materials remediation company, specializing in commercial, industrial, institutional and residential projects. We are dedicated to providing a safety-oriented, healthy and positive work environment.



We are looking for a qualified, well-rounded craftsperson experienced in many construction disciplines to perform work conforming to construction documents and building codes. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and all construction materials.


Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working in diverse settings on all types of commercial, industrial and residential projects. This position will include tasks not limited to:

  • Prioritize Health and Safety in all aspects of project.

  • Ensuring exceptional dust control protection, demolition, basic concrete work, precise framing, dry-walling, and impeccable project completion detailing.

  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Build Infection Control hoardings in accordance with CSA standards for infection control during construction, renovation, and maintenance of health care facilities.

  • Build forms for concrete work; sidewalks, curbs or gutter; patch voids and use saws to cut expansion joints.

  • Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, floors, sidewalks, or curbs.

  • Knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in carpentry.

  • All duties necessary to assist the demolition team with carpentry and other work as directed.



  • 3 to 5 years’ experience.

  • Full driver’s license and clean abstract.

  • Clean criminal record.

  • Knowledge of the local construction industry, with a solid understanding of the demolition sector.

  • Capable of reading drawings and job specifications.

  • Strong work ethic, ability to make decisions, work independently and with colleagues.

  • Keen ability too ‘think outside the box’ on complex projects.

  • Ability to work under pressure & committed to meeting tight project deadlines.

  • Flexibility to work two weekends per month and one month of nights per quarter, when required (Note: night shifts are scheduled on an agreed upon rotation basis.)

  • Available for scheduled out of town travel (generally within mainland NS, including PEI & NB)

  • CSA Infection Control Training an asset, but not a requirement. Training will be provided.

  • Full-time (40+ hours per week)

  • 2-4 weeks of vacation time, dependent on experience

  • $19 to $25 an hour (negotiable based on experience)
