Mike Hanrahan
Estimator

Born in Halifax, Mike, who is one-third of a set of triplets, moved around Nova Scotia as a young child. Mike's family finally settled in the community of the Eastern Shore and called it home.

Mike started his education at St. Mary’s University, but decided to go a different route and began his career in construction. In 2011, as an experienced residential roofer and bricklayer, Mike joined the Volcano Construction team as a General Labourer. Although he started as ‘green’ as they come in the demolition field, Mike’s strong work ethic and a willingness to learn helped him rise through the ranks to a Foreman on Demolition, Concrete Cutting, and Abatement job sites. In 2021, Mike was promoted to the role of Estimator.

When asked about his experience working at Volcano, Mike said “It’s amazing to work for an employer who believes in their employees and gives them opportunities to succeed. Beginning as a general labourer with no experience and moving up to a management position is no small feat, and I owe it all to Volcano and the time and effort they put into training me.”
